About 12 years ago we were asked if we wanted to start our own Food truck business, this was way before the whole craze started with food trucks. It was a little lemon, more precisely an old bowler trailer that was converted to look like a lemon It was cute, we really liked it but, the timing was bad, our kids were heavily into sports and school activities and other events so we had to put this on hold and raise our kids.
Fast forward to about one year ago and we went to visit my wife’s ‘cousin’ to re-look at idea’s for food trucks. Christine still owned the little lemon but it was not for sale; what we did do was spend a day and night with her at an local event and tour many of the food trucks and trailers on site with Christine as our guide and backstage pass.
We were just looking for idea’s and trying to understand better how a food truck was put together, how it should be set up, with no intention of buying anything, Needless to say the spark was planted, contacts made and a few short months later we had purchased a crepe trailer that was run by Cal and Pat of Okanogan Delights whom would become our mentors.
It was a clean canvas from which we could start to see and formulate idea’s on what we would like it to become.
